The 3D Printing Machine that Prints Itself.

3D Printed cooling ducts on the HP Multi Jet Fusion finished with black dye.

The HP Multi Jet Fusion really is an incredible machine. It produces strong, durable end use parts for many industries. It's also the first 3D printer to print its own parts. These cooling ducts were 3D printed on the HP Multi Jet Fusion, for the HP Multi Jet Fusion. They were originally injection moulded in 6 parts. Using some clever software from Siemens they were optimised and 3D printed in 1 piece. The parts are now produced quicker, cheaper and have increased air flow by 22%.

85% of all unused Nylon PA12 powder is recycled into the next build.

Its also great for the environment. 85% of all unused Nylon PA12 powder is recycled into the next build. No other 3D print machine can boast this level of efficiency. Due to it being a powder based machine no support materials are required so there are no issues with geometry. If it can be designed it can be printed.

Fine detail 3D printed on the HP Multi Jet Fusion.

The HP MJF machine prints at a layer height of 0.08mm enabling it to produce very fine detail for intricate pieces. With its build size of 380 x 284 x 380mm and 2 processing stations it can turn around 1000's of parts within days. As one station is being cooled the other station starts again in the main printing unit. This allows for continuous printing 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Nylon PA12 is a robust material and has exceptional chemical resistance to oils, greases, aliphatic and hydrocarbons making it ideal for engineers of every industry.

The all new Cupra Leon TCR is a track car packed with 3D printed parts.

The automotive industry has been quick to understand how this technology can be of benefit to them. The all new Cupra Leon TCR is a track car packed with 3D printed parts from the front grille to air vents and side mirrors. The working components were printed on the HP Multi Jet Fusion in days and contained variants so testing could be carried out for otimum functionality. Cupra were amazed how quickly this project was turned around.

Other industries such as the engineering world, manufacturers, product designers, artists, t.v. and film are now starting to understand how detailed, durable finished parts produced within days can be of great benefit to them.
