Full colour 3D printing is here and here to stay.
3D Printed trainer produced on the Stratasys J850.
The quality of 3D printing is moving at an unbelievably fast pace. New machines are arriving on the market that can produce full colour 3D prints in stunning vibrant colours. They include the J850 from Stratasys, the Jet Fusion 580 from HP and the 3DUJ-553 from Mimaki.
These machines all have unique selling points. The Stratasys J850 can colour match over 1900 pantone colours, can produce more than 500,000 distinguishable colour combinations and print seven resins simultaneously, combining solids, translucents and rubber like flexible materials such as Agilus30.
The HP 580 enables you to print full colour, engineering-grade, functional parts fast. Print hundreds of parts per week with fine detail and high dimensional accuracy. Reduces waste by re-using the remaining material.
The Mimaki 3DUJ-553 produces over 10 million colours and has a clear ink feature to make colours even more vibrant. Fine text and Images are faithfully represented.

Initially these machines were being built to produce prototypes for product designers and brands, which it does do and does do amazingly well. How else can you have a finished product in your hand, from design to concept within hours, and if you are not happy with certain aspects you just change that particular part of the design and reprint it, again within hours, amazing. This not only allows new products to get to market quicker, but there is also a massive cost saving compared to traditional manufacturing. At Division X Creative we are always looking to push the boundaries and take technologies to the extreme. We are already talking with other market places such as Retail, Artists, Sign Companies and the Film Industry. I think over the next couple of years these areas will see massive increases in growth. Watch this space.
